My duties include original research on systems and values, quality process, new product design and business development. Major projects include putting our software technology on the internet, and producing the publications we offer. I also participate fully in the international consulting of the firm.

Director, Test Center Senior Editor. I designed and built from scratch the SunWorld Test Center, where I oversee the development of tests and reviews for SunWorld. I also operate as a technical editor in that I review all articles for technical content. I am also in charge of looking at new technologies and operating as an industry analyst. I write the News | Grep, news analysis column. I have been integral in decisions concerning the growth of the magazine, and have been involved in redesign of the magazine and transitioning the magazine to a monthly publication.

Manager, Quality Assurance. I was in charge of quality at Verity. This meant that I tried to achieve as defect -free software as possible; as well as working on the product release process to make it more effective, and quality oriented. I was also in charge of testing all of Verity’s software products. This included creating and executing test suites, projecting resource needs, project management, hiring, debugging problems, setting up manufacturing and shipping processes and quality controls; and coordinating beta testing. I reported to the VP of Customer Service.

Frame Technology

San Jose, CA.

Manager, Quality Assurance. I was in charge of testing all of Frame Technology’s software products. This included creating and executing test suites, projecting resource needs, hiring, debugging problems and coordinating beta testing. I reported to the VP of Engineering.

Sun Microsystems, Inc.

Mountain View, CA.

Software Quality Engineer. Software System Test Group in the Engineering Operations Division. Tests written have included window performance, UNIX file system call performance and UNIX commands and system calls test suites. All the tests have been automated to make regression testing much easier as well as to introduce a consistent base of testing. I was involved in coordinating a bug verification effort for various OS releases.
